The beauty of nature - Prima BAP September

Hello friends!
It's a bit quiet on the blog, but I assure you I'm busy, busy - have few things ready to share in October  and even November :)
But before that, it's still September for couple of hours so I'm throwing in my Prima BAP based project, inspired by nature beauty.
The sketch was JUST in my taste, I could not arrange this page any better :)

I played a little bit with eclectic style here, combining a modern, typical 'insta' sort of shot with the vintage design, using Prima's  Tea thyme and Engraver :)

Here's Prima's fabulous September BAP

Thanks for stopping by today, stay tuned !

Buttons!!! Let's Get Shabby # 50

Hello!
I'm quite convinced that there is one thing which each and every one of us scrappers have in their treasure boxes. A cheap stuff, but oh-so decorative :) BUTTONS!!!
Our team at LGS would like to invite you to play with us and make them the hero of your shabby project:)
Check out our Let's Get Shabby October challenge # 50!

I tried to capture the spirit of midsommar in this girly shabby frame, featuring both the stamped and real buttons. There is more buttons than flowers at least, which is unusual for me;)

With love - for a boy

Witajcie Kochani,
po zwariowanym tygodniu nareszcie zwalniam troche tempo...kto wie, moze nawet cos scrapkowego sie wydarzy wieczorem ;)
tymczasem w zanadrzu mam jeszcze jedna karteczke, dla malego chlopczyka z okazji chrztu.

Hello!
It's been a crazy week for me and only now I can feel I'm finally catching the breath...who knows, some scrappy moments might even happen later on ;)
Meanwhile one more of my cards, for a little boy.

Kartke zrobilam na mojej ulubionej obecnie duzej, eleganckiej, poziomej bazie z Papierowej Galanterii.  Aby bezpiecznie przetrwala transport, zapakowalam ja w kremowe pudelko DL.
Na ta elegancka okazje wybralam papiery UHK My Dear Watson, a glowny motyw to spiace dziecko czyli stempel La Blanche.
Zarowno papiery UHK jak i bazy Papierowej Galanterii mozna kupic np w UHK Gallery.

For the base of my card I used this interesting, elegant plain card base from Papierowa Galanteria
Gentle cream colour, DL size, heavy, elegant paper - it's all glamour!
For postage I've packed it safely in the DL box made of the same paper.
Dear Watson papers by UHK was a perfect choice for an elegant, boyish card  and I think it made a great match with the image of a sleeping child, La Blanche stamp.
Both the cardstock cardbase, the boxes and the UHK papers you can purchase here at UHK Gallery

This love - forever. TCR # 159

Witajcie!

Hello there!
Out of a sudden it's autumn weather behind my windows, autumn at its worse unfortunately. But perhaps this is why I had s great time working with this velvety, plushy colour palette TCR # 159.

I found some perfect papers and stamps in my Inkido stash to match this palette.
To lighten my background I used a mask with text and a 'cracle' stamp - actually it's a map of Sweden (Inkido stamp) but it worked perfectly pretending to be crackled paint ;) I used it also on the oval frame, stamping with greyish ink.

I used both the palette and the skectch

Lucky to be coming home - OUAS September

Kochani!
Inspiracji dostarczylo mi wyzwanie Once Upon a Sketch - Lucky.

Dear friends!
Not only mixed media on kraft is addicting - mixed media in general, on anything :) Seriously!!!
Sharing one more mixed media project, this time on light eco cardstock by Papierowa Galanteria.
Inspired by September challenge at Once Upon a Sketch challenge - Lucky.

Tytul mojej pracy to cytat, ktory zaczerpnelam z piosenki J. Mraz 'Lucky' - lucky to be coming home again.
I used a line from J. Mraz's song 'Lucky' - lucky to be coming home again. The scene features my daughter, one afternoon during our last trip to Poland, picking wild flowers. I feel we are so fortunate, being able to visit our friends and family in Poland quite often.
Journalling on the backside of the plain journaling ticket, which is removable.

I edited the photo in a photo app and I tried to match those colours on the paper, using different colours of Twinkling H2O. I did some stamping as well and I softened the edges of the  coloured area, brushing randomly with some heavy gesso.

Supplies:
Papierowa Galanteria
Mixed Media Place

Thanks for stopping by, next time I promise to show something involving more scrapbook papers ;)

You are my song - mixed media kraft page

Witam ponownie!
W pracy inspirowalam sie mapka Kraft it UP choc jak widac ulegla u mnie pewnym modyfikacjom. Geometryczne, regularne, uporzadkowane ksztalty jakos do mnie nie przemawiaja :)

Hello again!
Than you for all kind words regarding my step-by-step  tutorial i previous post! As a proof of the fact that mixed media on kraft can be addicting, I'm popping in today with another page using similar techniques.
My layout inspiration is taken from Kraft it UP sketch (September challenge) however  I used it as a starting point only and let the page compose itself ;)

Kraft comes of course from Papierowa Galanteria, this time I worked with the lighter, more beige side. Mixed media : gesso, modelling paste, Lumiere paints, Stazon ink.

A oto mapka Kraft it Up , z ktorej skorzystalam / Here's the sketch from Kraft it Up

Pozdrawiam cieplutko!
Have a good one!

Victorian shabby - background tutorial on kraft

Witam Was cieplo!
Dzis bedzie nieco dluzszy post wiec radze zaopatrzyc sie w filizanke czegos pysznego i cieplego;)

Hello friends!
A bit longer post today, you'd better be equipped with a 'cuppa' of something delicious and warm ;)
I'm further exploring an amazing material, namely a kraft cardstock and I have taken few step nby step photos of my recent project. This is what I will be sharing with you today, a mini tutorial

Mixed media background on kraft :)

Kraft, z ktorym zawsze pracuje pochodzi z Papierowej Galanterii.

Kraft cardstock which I choose to work with  is produced by Papierowa Galanteria. You can buy either a heavy weight cardstock or a thinner one. As a base for work I always use the heavy kraft, but the thin kraft is perfect for die cutting so you might need a few sheets too.  Both are of an excellent quality!

A teraz mini kurs na tlo.
Now onto the tutorial part

STEP 1

Apply a thin layer of gesso, I use a silicon brush for this part (a plastic card or spatula works well too) . I even did some random masking with gesso, but it's not necessary.
Let dry completely.
Apply random stamping with different stamps to create a collage.
I'm using different text stamps, frame, swirls and bubbles.
Stazon ink works best on gesso!

STEP 2

Wzor musi ´ponownie wyschnac.

Time for another layer of gesso masking. I used another mask and I covered the wet pattern with Dry glitter by Ranger, but this is totally optional, only if you want more structure and subtle shimmer. Let dry.

STEP 3

Moze troche koloru?
Ja uzylam moich ulubionych kolorow akwareli Twinkle H2O, nalozylam mokra farbe palcem i spryskalam woda.

Some colour perhaps?
I used some of my faves, that is Twinkling H2O. I applied wet paint with the finger and sprayed with water. Finishing touch - few drops of the dark colour to give more contrast.
You can even use mists, stains or paints blended with water, they will work as fine!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Calosc w stylu , ktory okreslilam sobie - victorian shabby :)
Brzeg pudelka wykonczylam koronka. Pudelko do zludzenia przypomina maly blejtram i mysle, ze od teraz bede je wykorzystywac rowniez w takiej roli ;) W moim miescie takie male blejtramy sa trudne do zdobycie, oraz drozsze niz pudelka;)

On this background I then created the composition, using pieces of UHK Dear Watson. That's a final step to decorate this box in victorian shabby style :)
The edge of the box is decorated with a lace. The bocx looks very much like a tiny canvas, I think I will be using those boxes for this purpose. Small canvas are difficult to get where I live - not to mention, more expensive;)

Kraft jako baza do pracy czesto staje sie troche anonimowym elementem - tymczasem jest to niesamowicie wdzieczny material do pracy. Mozna z nim czarowac - nadac mu dowolny kolor, styl, wynosi kreatywnosc na zupelnie nowy poziom i warto obsadzic go w glownej roli :)

Kraft as a base to work is sometimes kind of disregarded, omitted, while it is such a versatile material and so fun to work with! You can give it any colour, any expression - it will bring your creativity up to new levels! It's truly worth a leading role in a play :)
I worked with a 15 cm plain card box. It comes open so it's very convenient to work with, then you can assemly it when you are ready. Hot glue is my choice for this part .

I hope you got tempted and a bit inspired to play with kraft:) Thank you so much  if you have made it all the way through my post , to here;)

This gorgeous moodboard inspired me to make this page, featuring myself ;) I played with contrasts, texts, outlined elements and filigree lace patterns. I followed the sketch closely, only replaced multiple photos with one (which was more than enough of me LOL) and two frames, the rests of paper from die-cutting tags.

I used papers from Prima, some of my favorite stamps and the beautiful mists from a polish manufacturer 13arts : Pearl Olive Green and Chalk Yellow Amber.

OK, back to business again ;) Our PRIZES are gorgeous as always!
